Many companies use collapsible containers in their manufacturing and distribution systems today. Collapsible containers when empty need to be stacked and delivered back into the manufacturing area or returned to the supplier that owns them. When stacking containers the un-wanted container is placed in the open area below the other containers. This will automatically signal the unit that a collapsible container is present and stack it.

When dispensing containers a stack of up to 16 Collapsible Containers will be placed into the dispenser. The dispenser will automatically dispense containers every 25 seconds. When a container has been removed, the unit will automatically dispense, lowering a replacement collapsible container for easy removal by a pallet jack.

How can you stack or dispense a collapsible container that will not cause musculoskeletal stresses, such as heavy lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, etc.?

Employees must reach above shoulder height to access the top of a stack of collapsible containers and bend to lower them to floor. Collapsible containers weigh between 80 and 250 pounds and may be lifted several times during a work shift. This repeated lifting can cause stress to the lower back and the shoulders. Additionally, lifts above shoulder height often require awkward hand and wrist movements. There is greater diversity in today's workforce. Once dominated by men, the industrial workers of today are more diverse in gender and age.

THE SOLUTION:
The answer to the problem is a Collapsible Container Dispenser / Stacker. As the containers are emptied and subsequently collapsed they are carried by pallet jack to the dispenser / stacker. When stacking, the collapsible container is placed in the open area below the other stacked containers, the dispenser will stack it automatically. When the dispenser is full (It will hold a maximum of sixteen containers or 3000 lbs) the stack is removed also via pallet truck or forklift and placed for reuse. Conversely, a stack of empty containers can be placed in the dispenser / stacker and each individual container can be removed, once again from the bottom by pallet jack. There is no more lifting, reaching, bending and stretching required.
